Snowsports Club

Welcome to the Victoria Snowsports Club, we are a club for those who enjoy the white fluffy stuff that falls from the sky, whether you are a novice snowboarder, ski racer, or just enjoy the laid back atmosphere then we are for you.

There are two main aim of the Victoria Snowsports Club:
1. Is to build a strong and close team to travel to the Uni Snow Games held annually in Wanaka, where students of all levels compete for titles on and off the snow; and
2. Allow students inexpensive access to snowsports, whether for racing or the social atmosphere of the sport.

The Victoria Snowsports Club

The Victoria Snowsports Club is associated with the University of Auckland Snowsports Club www.uasc.co.nz who has a 32 bunk lodge on the Whakapapa skifield www.mtruapehu.com which is about 4 hours drive north of Wellington.

By joining the Victoria Snowsports Club you get cheap on mountain accommodation, breakfast and dinner, no more worrying about transport and in the evening the lodge has a warm social atmosphere.

Uni Snow Games

The Uni Snow Games is the major skiing and boarding competition between all the New Zealand universities. The 2007 event will be held between Saturday 25 and Friday 31 August 2007 (in the second week of mid trimester brake in trimester two).

The events at the Uni Snow Games are the: Slalom (Ski), Giant Slalom, Skier and Boarder Cross, Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air.

For the 2007 Uni Snow Games we have 50 places to fill. We have places for both hardcore racers and anyone who feels the need for snow, sun, partying and more. The only requirement is that you participate in at least 2 events!

Historically the total cost of the trip including: transport, six day lift pass, games entry fee, eight nights accommodation and team hoodies for all under $600.00! (The exact amount will be confirmed closer to the event but if you plan to go in 2007 start budgeting between $600 and $700).
