Victoria University of Wellington Students' Association

Gecko is the environmental group on campus that works on both local and global issues. We are a friendly bunch who want to make the campus a better place and improve environmental awareness and action of students and the general public. Last year we set up an organic veggie garden on campus and helped a number of students ‘green-ovate’ their flats. We run stalls in the quad to provide information and healthy food to students. We have weekly meetings and welcome anyone who wants to get involved. Climate change has also been a focus in the last year. Every year, we take a group to the ECO NZ conference - a great opportunity to meet with other grass roots environmental groups around Aotearoa. We welcome new members and are always open to ideas for what we could do.
