GeolSoc prides itself in involving both staff and students in social and academic pursuits revolving around the underlying theme of Geology. The VUW GeolSoc is the basement rock (Greywacke ) that the Building Stones (Granite) of the BSc in Geological Studies is founded upon. Annual events include; Mid Year and End of Year Field Trips, Formal End of Year Dinner, Staff vs. Students Soccer Match, Quiz Nights, Keg Nights, and Guest Lecture Appearances. Geology Society is the oldest club on campus and was established in 1954. Any student or staff member involved in geology is encouraged to join but anyone on campus is welcome to join. Membership forms are available from the SGEES office, 3rd Floor Cotton Building.
