Flying Disc Club

Contact details

The Flying Disc Club was first established in 1999. The Club was set up to promote disc sports on campus, though the main focus is on Ultimate, both indoor and outdoor. Ultimate is most easily described as a non-contact cross between American Football and Netball that is played with a frisbee, or, as we call it, a flying disc. One of the more unusual things about Ultimate is that there is no referee. Every player learns the rules, and plays within them. This makes Ultimate a sport which rewards fair-play and makes it one of the friendliest sports you will ever play. Club members have the opportunity to travel to every major city in New Zealand to play in tournaments throughout 2009. We are recognised as one of the best clubs for the development of players and are competitive on a regional and national level with the awards to prove it. We have many great social events, from games nights and parties, to competitions, road trips and disc golfing expeditions which anyone can be a part of.
