Orientation
(1st and 2nd weeks of Trimester 1)
VUWSA’s Orientation programme provides students with a fun and diverse orientation to both the University and to Wellington in a safe and inclusive environment.
Orientation includes a raft of events from bands to library tours, political forums to sporting fun.
Past Orientation highlights have included; The Shins, Disasteradio, WOW, Thought Creature, Dimmer, The Family Cactus, The Dead C, Interpol, So So Modern, The Violent Femmes, Supergroove, Tiki Live, NOFX, Die! Die! Die!, Juliet Lewis & the Licks, Dai Henwood and Rhys Darby.
You’ll find out everything you need to know via the special Orientation Guide issue of Salient, along with heaps of other promotional material that VUWSA distributes at the start of the year.
Re-Orientation
(1st week Trimester 2)
VUWSA’s Re-Orientation helps ease you back into study after the mid-year break.
Salmonella Dub, Kora, Stephen Wrigley, Traps, and Minuit are some of the acts that have provided a winter warm up at past Re-Orientation.
Regular Events
VUWSA hosts a range of regular on and off campus events throughout the year, including Battle of the Bands Student Styles, quiz and bingo nights, our Future DJ Competition, and DJ sets at the campus bar.
VUWSA also hosts a range of themed weeks, such as Women’s Fest and Environmental Week.
