SRC and SRC Policy

"That as a matter of procedure in the SRC, speeches on motions which are on the agenda shall be limited to two minutes for the mover and one minute for each subsequent speaker, except that the SRC may resolve to extend any person's time."

"That as a matter of procedure in the SRC, all elections shall be held under a system whereby if no candidate has an absolute majority of the total votes cast on the first ballot, a second ballot is held between the two leading candidates."

"That all appointments by the Students' Association to bodies outside the Students' Association be made by the SRC."

"That there be no card playing during an SRC meeting."

"That the SRC more actively encourages student participation at its meetings by means of greater advertising in and around the University giving at least three days notice of the next meeting, and that the SRC issues a printed statement of its aims and objectives achieved as soon as possible to be made readily available to the large number of students who as yet do not know what it is, where it is, or why it is."

"That the SRC views with concern the increasing encroachment on the SRC allocated time on Wednesdays between 12 and 2 p.m. by practicals, labs and tutorials, and requests the University through the appropriate committees to ensure that this period is free one for students."

"That this Association thanks former and current students for their contribution to this University and acknowledging the contribution the student movement has made to the spirit and political awareness of the 1970s, reaffirms its belief in SRC as the decision-making body of this Association."

"That this Association instructs the Executive, when engaging bands, promoting films and organising other cultural events in the future, to scrutinise the content of these acts to ensure that they do not flagrantly violate Association policy of opposing sexism, racism and anti-lesbian and gay bias."

"That the first time organisations which have abbreviations are mentioned in the SRC Policy Book, full names not abbreviations be used.  Further that the SRC policy book contain a glossary outlining the meaning of all abbreviations used."

"That the roll of Association Officers be called at the beginning of each SRC."

"SRC policy may not be revoked without notice of the change being given in the agenda."

"That this Association views with concern any encroachment on SRC allocated time on Wednesdays between 12 and 2 pm by lectures, practicals, labs and tutorials, and requests the University through the appropriate committees to ensure that this period is free for all students to attend Association meetings."

"That speakers be limited to not more than three minutes each and no more than four questions be put to each speaker."

That this SRC condemn any government which allows student debt to rise.
