VUWSA Van Hire

All VUWSA affiliated Clubs and Representative Groups are able to request the use of the VUWSA van.  You can find the Van Rental Request Form here, this form must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the requested hire date.

The VUWSA van is hired out on a first in first serve policy,  therefore it pays to submit the request form as soon as possible.

The hire fee for the VUWSA van is $90.00 a day.

Piggy Packers Van Hire

All VUWSA affiliated clubs and Representative Groups are able to hire a van from Piggy Packers through VUWSA with a daily $25 subsidy. With the VUWSA subsidy, petrol vans cost $115 per day to hire, while diesel vans cost $125 per day.

An initial 15% of the overall charge must be paid no more than seven days (7 days) before the vehicle is due to be taken out, followed by the balance prior to collecting the vehicle five days prior to the hire date.

To make the booking, a representative from your group will need to go to VUWSA’s Kelburn Office and complete the necessary paper work. All drivers must be 21 years or age and over with a current full license. It is a good idea to book the van(s) at least two weeks prior to going away as often they are being used and can be hired out on the same day/time.

Van(s) can be collected at Piggy Packers rentals in Porirua (1 Station Road East Porirua, at the railway station car park off the motorway on ramp). Trailers are also available at $25 per day. Payment for Piggy Packers van(s) can be made at the VUWSA Kelburn Office.

Cleaning fees can be incurred if a vehicle is returned untidy and a $35 fee will be incurred if the vehicle is not returned with a full tank of fuel.
