Student Representatives
University Council
Students elect a Student Representative to the University Council, alongside the VUWSA President on a annual basis. The University Council is the governance board of the University. These two representatives put forward student concerns and perspectives to the University Council. This student representative is elected annually as part of the VUWSA General Elections.
In 2010, your student representative is Conrad Reyners, along with Max Hardy (your President).
Max Hardy is also student representative on two Committees of Council: the Audit and Risk Committee, and the Finance Committee. Conrad Reyners is student representative on the Governance Committee.
Academic Board
VUWSA also has student representatives on Academic Board.
In 2010, your student representatives are: Max Hardy (President, VUWSA), Bridie Hood (Vice-President (Education), VUWSA), Pania Lee (Ngāi Tauira), Julene Marr (President, PGSA), and Stuart Martin (General Student Representative).
Faculty Boards
Students through VUWSA have delegates on all University Faculty Boards and Committees. These representatives are appointed annually by the VUWSA Executive. For more information on Faculty Delegates, contact the Education Organiser.

Class Representatives
All courses elect a Class Representative who acts as a link between VUWSA and students in classes. Class Representatives provide an invaluable connection between the lecturer and students. They also work with the VUWSA Education and Welfare Teams (depending on the specific circumstance) on any academic issues. They are elected by students by the third week of classes every trimester.

The golden rule is: when in doubt, contact VUWSA – that’s what we’re here for, to help you. Please note that you will not be eligible for your Class Representative Certificate if you do not attend training.
For more information on Class Representatives contact the Education Organiser.
VUWSA Publications Committee
The Publications Committee is responsible to the Executive for the financial supervision of Salient and any other publications delegated to it by the Executive. Two Student Representatives sit on the Committee and are elected every year during the VUWSA General Elections. The VUWSA President and the Vice-President (Administration) are ex-officio members of this Committee.
Other Boards, Committees and Working Groups
VUWSA has student representatives on dozens of other University boards, committees and working groups.
You have representation on the Student Services and Amenities Levy Advisory Committee to the Vice Chancellor, the Joint Student Union Board (JSUB), the VUWSA-Student Union Bar Committee, the Equity Strategy Group, the Timetable Committee, the Library and Information Services Committee, the Information and Technology Advisory Group, and the Hardship Committee among others.
If you are interested in finding out more about opportunities for you to be a student representative, contact the Education Organiser.
