Voting for the Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association (VUWSA) 2011 General Election has closed, and we can announce current Vice-President (Academic) Bridie Hood has been elected President and will lead VUWSA in 2012.

“I would like to thank all the students who voted in the elections. 2012 is going to be a challenging year for VUWSA and students’ as a whole, but I look forward to working alongside the new Executive to ensure that VUWSA remains a strong and responsive students’ association” said Hood.

Hood has served two terms as Vice-President (Academic) and has overseen considerable development and strengthening of student representation at Victoria including 94% of classes now having Class Representatives and facilitating substantial student input into Victoria’s Review of Undergraduate Education.

VUWSA received one of its highest voter turnouts, with close to 1900 students casting their vote either online or in person during the General Election voting period (26-29 September).
