Help us submit on the Residential Tenancies Act review
Last August, the government announced that they will be reviewing the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) - the legislation that covers off what’s legal and not when it comes to renting in New Zealand. The current law deals mostly with the legal relationship between the landlord and the tenant, but doesn’t cover any modern issues of renting like rent bidding, quality of housing or the licensing of property managers.
For most students, renting is a huge part of our lives and we have an important stake in this issue. That is why it is important that our voices be heard and considered by the government through this process. VUWSA will be making a collective submission based off responses from our students. Tell us about your flatting experiences below and how you think renting in New Zealand could be improved.
The last day for input into the VUWSA submission is Thursday 18 October at 5pm
