SUSTAINABLE CLUBS CHALLENGE
Think your club has what it takes to earn a sustainable club certification?
Join our Sustainable Clubs Challenge launching July 20th and log your progress through the Green Impact programme!
Successful clubs will be recognised on stage at this year’s VUW Gold Awards and will compete to win a $300 prize grant for 2027.
How do I get started?
Join the Green Impact programme here with your club's email address. You might already be participating individually, but make sure to sign up as a club so your whole exec can participate in the challenge. Then, check out the challenges labelled ‘CLUB’ and get started ticking them off!
What actually are the challenges?
All the tasks listed in the Green Impact programme under the ‘CLUB’ heading contribute points towards completion of the Sustainable Clubs Challenge. These include things like appointing a Sustainability Advocate within your team, fixing a piece of your club’s gear, or utilising the VUWSA dishware library for an event! Each task earns points for your club, and you need at least 25 points to complete the challenge.
How long do I have and what happens next?
The Sustainable Clubs Challenge will close at midnight on Sunday 20th September 2026. An audit will then be held of the tasks completed and the evidence provided by your club! Participating clubs with 25 points or more will be recognized for their commitment to sustainable practice, receiving a Sustainable Club Certification presented at the 2026 Gold Awards. A $300 prize grant from VUWSA will be awarded to the first club to complete the entire toolkit, or the club with the most points upon closure of the challenge.
